These eight traffic fixes are coming to Irvine

The city’s new Transportation Commission began in May and already is guiding $116 million in traffic improvements throughout the city. Plans are underway to:

  1. Widen Jamboree Road at Barranca Parkway and at Main Street
  2. Widen University Drive, from Ridgeline Drive to the 405 Freeway
  3. Add turn lanes at Culver Drive and University Drive
  4. Allow left turns on flashing-yellow arrows at six intersections
  5. Build a pedestrian bridge over the Jamboree-Michelson Drive intersection
  6. Add two new iShuttle business-commuter routes
  7. Improve signal timing at freeway ramp areas
  8. Improve pedestrian and bicycle detection systems
